When a window is damaged, be it broken glass or the window frame, our professional local Blyth glaziers are only a short distance away to fix the problem. We can also modernise your existing frames with more efficient window styles including double glazing, aluminum replacement windows and Low - E Glass.
For Blyth shop front windows we would use laminate glass, which conforms to BS 6206. Large and/or thicker than normal panes will usually be a next day service, dependant on glass dimensions. Our Blyth double-glazed units take approximately two to three days to order, and all our units come with a manufacturers guarantee.
Annealing
Annealing is a process employed when double glazed units are manufacturered. The glass panel is heated in such a way so that the entire pane has a uniform temperature. The temperature is then held steady for long enough to remove all internal stresses introduced by the formation of the glass while it was in it's molten state. The glass is then slowly cooled. This process has several benefits for the glass. If the stresses are not removed, this can cause fractures later on from slight impacts, or sizeable changes to temperature. The optical properties of the glass are also improved.
